Border Buddy Pet Care – Transport & Coordination Pricing

Border Buddy Pet Care is a transport and care coordination service, not a veterinary clinic. Veterinary services are provided by independent clinics in Ciudad Juárez and are paid directly to the veterinarian.

Many families choose Border Buddy because veterinary care in the United States can be expensive—especially when testing, imaging, procedures, and repeat visits are needed. Our fees are intentionally designed so that clients can still experience strong overall value and meaningful savings, even after transport and coordination costs are included.

A key benefit: clinic exam/consultation is included (scheduled visits)

For standard scheduled visits, your Border Buddy fee includes the veterinary exam/consultation fee at the clinic. We pay that exam fee directly to the clinic as part of your appointment—so you’re not paying a separate exam charge on top of transport and coordination.

Why this matters in El Paso: local exam/consultation fees commonly start around $65 or more per visit. When follow-ups are needed, exam fees alone can add up fast:

    •    2 visits: about $130+ in exam fees

    •    3 visits: about $195+ in exam fees

With Border Buddy, those consultation fees are included in your visit pricing—so exam fees don’t stack up as your pet completes the care plan.

You pay the clinic separately for everything beyond the exam, including:

    •    Diagnostic testing (bloodwork, X-rays, screening tests)

    •    Procedures and anesthesia

    •    Medications and take-home treatments

How our pricing works (per care episode)

Veterinary care often happens in stages—an initial visit plus one or more follow-ups for the same issue (for example: a wound, dental plan, post-op care, or follow-up testing).

To make it easier to complete recommended care, we price visits as a care episode and reduce costs on follow-ups for the same episode:

    •    Visit 1 (start of a care episode): $199

Round-trip transport + coordination + clinic exam/consultation included

    •    Visit 2 (follow-up for the same episode): $150

Round-trip transport + coordination + clinic exam/consultation included

    •    Visit 3 (additional follow-up for the same episode): $100

Round-trip transport + coordination + clinic exam/consultation included

Care episode window: Discounted follow-up pricing applies when visits are part of the same care episode and occur within a 30-day window from the first visit. If your pet returns later for a new issue or outside the episode window, pricing starts again at $199 for that new episode.

Why this structure delivers value

Many veterinary situations require more than one visit. In the U.S., families often pay a new exam fee each time—plus higher costs for testing, imaging, and procedures. By including the clinic consult fee and discounting follow-ups within the same care episode, we help keep total costs predictable and make it easier to move forward with recommended care.

Emergency & Urgent Visits (different pricing)

Some situations require immediate coordination and off-schedule transport.

    •    Urgent / Emergency Coordinated Roundtrip: $499

Important: For emergency/urgent visits, the clinic exam/consultation fee is not included, and all veterinary emergency charges are paid directly to the provider. Emergency coordination is subject to availability and clinic capacity.

How much can I save?

Savings vary based on your pet’s needs, the clinic, and the care plan recommended by the veterinarian. Even after factoring in transport and coordination fees, many families report overall savings of roughly 20–60% compared to comparable U.S. pricing, especially for diagnostics, anesthesia-based procedures, and multi-visit treatment plans.

Savings are often strongest because:

    •    Exam/consultation fees don’t stack up across follow-ups (they’re included in our scheduled visit pricing)

    •    Diagnostics and procedures in Ciudad Juárez are often more affordable

    •    Lower follow-up pricing makes it easier to complete the recommended care plan

Savings are not guaranteed and can vary; some routine or single-visit care may be closer in cost depending on provider and services recommended.
